planes trains and automobiles

I have traveled extensively for 25 years as part of my job and thought it would be interesting to share and read funny stories that others have experienced as a road warrior. I'll start off with one of my many embarrassing moments.

I lived in Kansas City and had an appointment in Wichita at 8:30am. Those familiar with the goegraphy in the midwest know that on a good day driving from Kansas City to Wichita takes approziamately 4 hours. Getting up early is my specialty by dressing in the dark is not. After driving nearly 4 hours I made the "good husband" to family phone call at approxiamately 7:30am and, while on the phone realized I had dressed with one brown and one black loafer. All I could do was laugh and try to figure out what to do. All stores were closed so I had two choices; wear two different colored shoes or fake an injury. I did the later and limped in to the meeting with one shoe on. My client was sorry to hear I could not wear my shoe and asked me to ride the emergency elevator, reserved for handicapped employees and visitors. Once I left I had a good laugh, drove home and decided never to dress in the dark again. By the way, I actually got the sympathy order and everytime I see Coleman products I have a chuckle and exhibit a faint smile.

How about your experiences...share them with me. If we succeed in getting enough funny stories we will consider publishing for others to read.
